Doodles Premiere
Brief
Doodles premiered its first film, Dullsville and the Doodleverse, at the Toronto International Film Festival. A cartoon world that had only ever existed on screens needed to exist in a building for one night.
Approach
We took over the Design Exchange, inside the historic Toronto Stock Exchange, and rebuilt it as the Doodleverse with 360-degree projection mapping and live performance. The film itself was a twenty-minute animated special plus three music videos, with Pharrell Williams as executive producer, voice work and music from Coi Leray, and appearances from Lil Wayne, Lil Yachty and Swae Lee. A merch store carried collaborations with Adidas, Casio G-Shock and Arizona Iced Tea, so what people took home belonged to the world instead of being a branded tote.
Outcome
A sold-out premiere at TIFF and a full-building transformation, directed by Doodles co-founder Burnt Toast through his studio Golden Wolf.
